September 10, 2009
Washington, DC: Second Chance Employment Services is proud to announce that our founder and president, Ludy Green, PhD, has been appointed as a delegate to the countries of Syria and Jordan by the U.S. Department of State.
Dr. Green will travel to Syria and Jordan in October to meet with government and business leaders, academics and NGOs, to discuss violence against women, as well as the economic empowerment of women as a solution to this global problem.
In both countries Green will present the highly successful Second Chance model as a Best Practice, and share how our model can be effectively reproduced with the same effectiveness throughout the world.
In Jordan, Green will visit the Dar Al-Amman Children’s Shelter and the Dar Al-Amman Women’s Shelter, she will give lectures on women's human rights at The University of Jordan, and present at workshops with members of government as well as Jordanian and international NGOs. Green will also hold a speech and discussion session with the Jordanian Minister of Social Development.
It is the success of the Second Chance model as well as the expertise and international reputation of Ludy Green that prompted Secretary of State to recommend her for this high-level post.
We wish our founder the best of luck in presenting the successful solutions created and implemented by Second Chance as she meets with influential leaders in both Syria and Jordan.
