Second Chance is First Rate
march 20, 2003
Not one, but two recent events highlighted the hard work and dedication of Peruvian-born dynamo Dr. Ludy Green, who has thrown her full support into placing abused women in meaningful, long-term employment positions at enviable salaries. Ludy was honored at last fall’s Knock Out Abuse gala. Her personal charm and perseverance enticed Senator Bob Dole to join the board of this worthy cause. After taping with President Clinton in New York for their premiere “60 Minutes” segment, inclement weather prevented the Senator from attending a lovely tribute to the cause hosted by Spezie restaurant on L Street on March 6. Not to be outdone, Len Adler and his artist spouse Dale welcomed Ludy devotees to their ”Vale Valley Farms” a few days later. Council Member Harold Brazil was among those applauding this lovely lady and her commitment to at-risk women.
