Ludy Green to Receive Phenomenal Women's Alliance Leaderwship Award

Washington, D.C. April 24, 2010: Dr. Ludy Green will receive the Phenomenal Women's Alliance Leadership Award for her significant contributions in the fight to end domestic violence. Dr. Green’s tireless work through Second Chance Employment Services, provides meaningful and lasting help to domestic violence survivors. Every day, Dr. Green’s work strengthens our community by leading survivors to true freedom through economic independence.
The Phenomenal Women’s Alliance (PWA) is an organization that recognizes the growing need for women to enhance their leadership development by cultivating their talents and building relationships. PWA is focused on the empowerment and advancement of women from all walks of life - building women up from the inside out. PWA’s purpose is to support and implement programs that foster the social, education and economic empowerment of women.

The work of Dr. Ludy Green and the mission of Second Chance (SCES) fit perfectly with the PWA goals. As you know, SCES is a non-profit organization of human resource professionals that seeks to promote financial security for at-risk women and their dependents through comprehensive and practical training and career development services. The vast majority of the women we serve are victims of domestic violence, though we serve other at-risk women as well. We provide free professional human resource services to help at-risk women enter the workforce and achieve true financial independence, thereby eliminating their financial dependence on the abuser and enabling the women, and their children to live free from abuse.
